Biking adventures in Kyrgyzstan

Day 1: Europe-Bishkek

Arrive in Bishkek. Transfer to Bishkek (35 km-30 min). After breakfast sight-seeing tour of Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic. From 1926 to 1991 the city was known as Frunze named after the Bolshevik military leader Mihail Frunze. After the independence it was renamed Bishkek. Visiting Ala-Too Square, the main square of Kyrgyzstan, The State Historical Museum, providing different founds and exhibits relating to the Kyrgyz history, Old Square, Manas Square called after Kyrgyz legendary hero Manas, “ZUM” shopping center where you can buy different souvenirs. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visiting colorful Osh Bazaar, the main open-air market in Bishkek. Overnight in Asia Mountains Hotel*** (alt. 750 m).

Kyrgyzstan Attractions

Kyrgyzstan is probably one of the Soviet Satellite Republics prior to the Soviet Union collapsed. Despite the political tension within the country within the past decade, the present regime has mostly isolated the turmoil in the southern regions on the region. Kyrgyzstan is probably one of the most progressive nations in central Asia.

Kyrgyzstan is predominantly Muslim with practically three fourths of its population being Muslims. However the region isn’t as strict as other Muslim nations and headscarves for women are not by and large watched.

Central Asia Travel Destinations – Kyrgyzstan

This mountainous country, filled with natural beauty is often referred to as the Switzerland of Asia. The Tian Shan Mountains cover more than 3/4 of the land and furnish endless hiking and mountaineering opportunities.

The remainder of country is varied, with the subtropical, fertile Fergana Valley in the southwest to temperate foothills in the north. Kyrgyzstan’s diverse geography and the hospitality of the people make it a wonderful tourist destination.

Things to See on Your Holidays in Kyrgyzstan

Often referred to as the Switzerland of Asia, Kyrgyzstan is very different from the other countries. It comes with its own share of customs, and surprises, filling the mountainous landscape. Compared with the dry and hot plains of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, this place is quite refreshing. Even though it does not have a long running history, the natural beauty of this place makes up for all the drawbacks. People here are very friendly and helpful, so travelling here is that much easier.

When making a trip out into this wilderness, remember to carry a local guide and the list of five places that you must see, which will make it that much more fun.
